Tomingley Gold Operations (TGO) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Alkane, located approximately 50km southwest of Dubbo in central-western NSW. Activities since 2014 include open cut and underground mining (since 2019), initially of the Wyoming and Caloma deposits.
Depending on the scope of the equipment to be installed, switchroom construction features may include extra floor, ceiling and wall reinforcement, increased ventilation or wider doors for maintenance access.
The switchroom building must be designed and rated according to BCA, and include the following:
- 2 hours fire rated, non-combustible walls, ceilings, floor and doors
- Full compliance with BCA 3.7.1.6 – Housing Provisions (Volume 2)
- Full compliance with Switchroom Manufacturer’s specification, that the product performs as tested to AS 1530 series of standards.
Escape routes shall be properly identified for establishing walkway and stairway systems. Each building shall have two access points and doors as per layouts (also serves for equipment access). All doors shall have emergency push bar release from the inside.
